Event Overview

Below is the event overview for 2019.

Welcome to the 17th annual BEND BREWFEST, the largest event of its kind in Central Oregon. There are 70 spots available in the event this year. At least 60 of those spots will go to craft breweries. The remaining 10 spots will be divided among ciders and possibly other breweries. Breweries will be selected based upon quality and uniqueness of beers entered.

WHAT'S NEXT?

  1. Submit your application for the 2019 festival. Look for an email by March 1 notifying you whether or not we are able to include your brewery in the event this year. Space is extremely competitive, and unfortunately we are unable to include all applicants each year. Your acceptance email will include username and password information for the Brewer's login area on our website.
     
  2. Once accepted, login to your brewery profile, upload your marketing logos and pay your participation fee by selecting the red "Fees & Logos" tab. The BBF participation fee is due by April 1, 2019. If sending a check, please mail it to:

EVENT PROCEDURES

BEER SELECTION / X-TAP: The BBF will purchase six 1/2 barrels (15.5 gal.) of each flavor of your beer (twelve 1/2 bbls total), for the beers pouring all three days of the festival, plus one or two 1/6 barrels from those selected to participate in the XTap. When selecting beers for this event, please make certain you will have adequate inventory available. A change in beer after the BBF guide is printed, or short delivery will result in disqualification from the event for 2020.

If you choose to submit a craft beer for the XTap, we will purchase one or two 1/6 barrels (only) of your specialty beer flavor to be tapped sometime during the three day event. Space in the XTap lineup is limited and reserved for low production/specialty beers. Your XTap submissions must be received by July 1, 2019. We will notify you by July 12 if your brewery has a spot in the XTap rotation.

If you are self distributed, please note it is your responsibility to deliver your kegs, and working jockey boxes to the Bend Brewfest on Tuesday, August 13, or Wednesday, August 14 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.; and pick up the empty kegs/equipment at the end of the event, Sunday, August 18 by noon.

Pricing: Kegs must be priced competitively.

To participate in the XTap, you must offer low production, specialty beers, and will review each XTap price individually. Please contact Marney Smith or Brent Joseph at 541-312-8510 with any questions.

Selection: Once accepted into the festival, you will have 30 days to identify which beers you will sell to us for the event. The Bend Brewfest attracts a beer savvy crowd. At least one of your selections must be a flavor not readily available at grocery stores.

No beer changes are allowed after April 1, 2019. If you have not submitted your beer flavors to us by April 1, 2019, you will lose your spot in the festival.

BEND BREWFEST ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

ALL beer will be poured by Bend Brewfest volunteers. We recruit over 1200 phenomenal volunteers, who help us raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oregon, the Deschutes River Conservancy, NeighborImpact, and Bend Fire Community Assistance.

 

BBF will provide tables, signage, CO2, ice, distributor coordination and extensive marketing for the event

Self Distributed breweries must deliver and pick up their own product, along with a working jockey box with all necessary parts including regulators. BBF will provide CO2.

 

Bend Brewfest will provide all signage in the pouring area. No additional banners are allowed in the pouring area. You are welcome to hang up to 2 banners along the perimeter fencing of the venue. The Bend Brewfest will not be held responsible for these banners and you must hang them at your own risk. You can pick up zip ties at the volunteer check in table. Any banners left in the venue after 12 PM, Sunday, August 18, 2019, will be available for pick up by appointment only by calling 541-312-8510.

APPLICATION DEADLINE / COST TO PARTICIPATE

Cost to Participate $425 for festival inclusion, highlighting two beers (required) and optional X-Tap. The Bend Brewfest purchases all kegs (no keg donations).

Payments can be made online from the red "Fees & Logos" tab above or by check through the mail. Checks must be received by accounting on or before April 1, 2019. Space is very limited so please apply as soon as possible to secure your spot at the event.
