Farmhouse Fleur pays tribute to the rich history of Saisons. As the name implies, this family of beers was born on a farm and was brewed for centuries with whatever was at hand around the homestead. That meant the inclusion of a wide variety of grains like spelt and raw wheat, and also that the brewer may choose to spice her creation with any number of flowers, herbs or spices grown or used on the farm. Often, these delicate creations would celebrate the arrival of Spring. And so, once again, we pay tribute to the storied past of the mighty Saison. pFriem Saison Fleur is brewed with Raw Wheat and Malted Spelt and showcases the use of Rose Hips, Calendula and White Peppercorns in the Whirlpool. Cheers to the arrival of Spring!
Included in our fruited Lambic-inspired series with La Mûre, which represents a new realm of exploration for this family of ales. For the first time, we’ve blended fruits together before beer was added. We blended 1,500 lbs of fresh Oregon Black Cap Raspberries with 500 lbs. of fresh Oregon Marionberries before adding our one-and-two-year blend of white wine barrel aged beer. We then left fruit and ale alone to mingle for more than 6 months. The result is deep, bright, intricate and beguiling.
