IPA No. 5 is brewed with roasted chestnuts, roasted lentils, and Belgian-style candi sugar. Crystal and Santiam hops are used during the boil and for dry-hopping. Silver medal winner in the Gluten-Free Beer category at the 2018 World Beer Cup as well as the 2015 Great American Beer Festival.
This light-bodied and low ABV gluten-free ale is inspired by the lesser-known Bavarian-style; Dampfbier. This utilitarian style maintains similar characteristics to the 19th century Hefeweizens that dominated the Munich beer scene at the time. Ground Breaker’s Dampfbier puts a Northwest twist on the style with a mellow dry-hopping of Santiam hops which complements the natural banana esters produced by the weizen yeast.
